Fast Pass+ Guide @ WDW

posted on 1/18/2019

Your trip to Disney World is within one‘s reach and it’s time to get your Fast Passes to get the most out of your trip. But you’ve no idea how to get them or for which attraction? Well, let me tell you.

What‘s a Fast Pass+?

Fast Pass+ is totally free and allows you to enter your chosen attraction through a separate entrance, which is usually a lot faster, as long as you’ve a valid park admission. Or you use your Fast Pass for a show. You can enter the show earlier than others, which means you’re getting the better seats.

First you need to create an account on the official Disney World app. This is an essential for every Disney World trip. With the app you can book your dinner and your Fast Passes. If you’re staying in a Disney Hotel you can book them 60 days in advance, if not only 30 days. When you’re traveling with family or friends they can link their account to yours in order to receive all dining and Fast Passes together. But they need to have a valid park admission linked to their account.

At which time should I get my Fast Passes?

There is no perfect time to get a Fast Pass for, but we always use our Fast Passes in the morning to noon. You can only book 3 Fast Passes in advance per day. When you’ve used them you can get a new one (only one at a time).

Can I get more than 3 Fast Passes?

If you’re there on a really crowded day this may be a good advice for you. When you visit a Vacation Club information event you will get 3 extra Fast Passes as compensation. Unfortunately they’re not valid on the newest attractions.  If you’re interested just ask a Cast Member at a vacation club center.

How can I use the Fast Pass at Disney World?

When you book your Fast Pass you got to choose your attraction and a time slot. When it’s your turn, go to the attraction through the Fast Pass + entrance and scan your magic band or show them your Fast Pass. There are no reminders. You have to keep an eye on it by yourself

How long is my Fast Pass + valid?

Your Fast Pass is valid for the time you’ve booked it until one hour afterwards. For example: If you book your Fast Pass+ for 10:30a.m. it’s valid from 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.

What if I’ve missed my Fast Pass slot?

If you notice you will be too late for your Fast Pass just cancel it and rebook it for a later time, but if it’s only a few minutes Cast Member would let you in.

Can I only get my Fast Passes for one Park per day?

Yes. Unfortunately you can only book the Fast Passes for one park in advance.

What if the attraction is temporality closed when it’s time for my FastPass?

From time-to-time it happens that a attraction may have technical difficulties which causes the attraction to temporarily close down. If you’ve a Fast Pass for the time while it’s closed, the app automatically changes your Fast Pass into a timeless Fast Pass. If it doesn’t open up again at all you get an multiple experience Fast Pass. With it you can enter one attraction, which is listed underneath the Fast Pass, any time.

Which attractions should I get my Fast Passes for?

I don’t know your preferences or if you’re traveling with children who may not ride. Neither do I know how crowded your day is, but the most crowded ones are usually the following:

Magic Kingdom:

  • Seven Dwarfs Mine Train
  • Haunted Mansion
  • Jungle Cruise
  • Space Mountain

Epcot:

There are 5 attractions and experiences you can only choose 1 Fast Pass for. These are Test Track, Soarin’, Frozen ever after, Illuminations and Meet Disney Pals. The most crowded attractions are:

  • Test Track
  • Frozen ever after
  • Soarin’
  • Mission: Space

Hollywood Studios:

There are 3 attractions where you can only get one Fast Pass for. These are Slinky Dog Coaster, Alien Swirling Saucers and Toy Story Mania. The most crowded ones are:

  • Slinky Dog Coaster
  • Alien Swirling Saucers
  • Rock’n’Rollercoaster
  • Tower of Terror

Animal Kingdom:

As usual for the newest attractions, you can only get 1 Fast Pass either for Flight of Passage or Na’vi River Journey. The most crowded ones are:

  • Flight of Passage
  • Na’vi River Journey
  • Kilimanjaro Safari
  • Expedition Everest

I didn’t get the Fast Pass for the attraction I wanted it for.

Well, this is pretty common for the newer attraction. They’re usually all taken by the hotel guests but don’t stop trying. If someone cancels their booking there may be a chance that you’re fast enough to get their passes.

As you’ve noticed almost every park has their attractions and experiences where you can only get one Fast Pass. We usually use them for Test Track, which is a fast ride which simulates a testing for your customized Chevrolet. Frozen ever after has a beautiful queue in which I really love to wait.

What I used my Fast Pass for is for Na’vi River Journey and it really was a waste for a Fast Pass. If you’ve the chance use it for Flight of Passage.
